Story-90 WEEK140 2026/3/30 – 4/4 Preparation for Sailing Again Continue
3/31にはスービックからメイドの旦那Janがセブに到着。4/2朝10時、満月の満潮時を狙って勇魚をシップヤードから北側の泊地に移動しつつシートライアルを行った。この時にエンジンの出力を上げてもボートスピードが上がらないことに気づいて、翌4/3にメカニックに見てもらった。結果、ギアボックス内部の12枚のクラッチ板が摩耗していて全取り換えが必要であることが判かり、出航は延期を余儀なくされた。また4/3夜には日本からNさんがセブ入りして東横インで1泊後の4/4に勇魚に乗り込み、キャプテンと2名のクルーによる船上生活が始まった。
On 3/31, Jan, the husband of the maid from Subic, arrived in Cebu. At 10:00 AM on 4/2, aiming for the full moon high tide, we moved Isana from the shipyard to the anchorage on the north side while conducting sea trials. At that time, we noticed that even when increasing the engine output, the boat speed did not increase, so we had a mechanic inspect it the following day, 4/3. As a result, it was found that the 12 clutch plates inside the gearbox were worn out and all needed to be replaced, forcing us to postpone departure. Additionally, on the night of 4/3, Mr. N arrived in Cebu from Japan, stayed one night at Toyoko Inn, and boarded Isana on 4/4, beginning life onboard with the captain and two crew members.

船内で初めて調理した。と言ってもスパゲティを茹でただけだけど。ストーブはブタンガスのカセットコンロ、IWATANI製。ジンバルもなかなかの出来。
I cooked for the first time on board. That said, I only boiled spaghetti. The stove is a butane gas cassette burner made by IWATANI. The gimbal is quite well made too.
シップヤード北側に移動して、他のヨットに横付けさせてもらって、いつでも出航できる準備は整ったのだけれど。
We moved to the north side of the shipyard, were allowed to come alongside another yacht, and were all set to depart at any time, but…
静かに出航を待つ風情。天候はこのところ頗る良好で、雨もほとんど降らない。風も北東2〜3m/s。
An atmosphere quietly awaiting departure. The weather has been extremely good lately, with hardly any rain. The wind is also from the northeast at 2–3 m/s.
アッパーキャビンも整理整頓。窓の樹脂ガラスも綺麗になって見通しが良くなった。
The upper cabin has also been tidied up. The window’s plastic glass has been cleaned too, improving visibility.
右から、GPSプロッター、水深計、風向風速計、速度計、オートパイロットとデジタル時計、温度、湿度計、全て動作を確認済み。
From the right: GPS plotter, depth sounder, wind direction and speed meter, speedometer, autopilot and digital clock, temperature and humidity gauge. All have been confirmed to be in working order.
エンジンの出力を上げてもボートスピードが上がらない。エンジンで6knくらいは出せないと42ftの重いロングキール艇勇魚を風浪に逆らって操船できる自信はない。
Even if I increase the engine output, the boat speed doesn’t go up. If I can’t get about 6 knots from the engine, I don’t have confidence in being able to handle the 42ft heavy long-keel boat Isana against wind and waves.
果たして、ギアボックスをバラした結果、12枚のクラッチ板が摩耗していて、全交換することになり、バーツをマニラから取り寄せるため５日ほどかかるとのこと。何とか4/11までに取り替え修理が完了できることを期待するしかない。
As it turns out, after disassembling the gearbox, all 12 clutch plates were worn out and will need to be completely replaced. It will take about five days to order the parts from Manila. All we can do is hope that the replacement and repairs can be completed by April 11.
