Subic Bay Yacht Club
1991年6月3日、ルソン島西部のピナツボ火山が最初のマグマ性噴火を起こし、6月10日には近隣のクラーク米空軍基地に駐留していた米兵とその家族14,000人が、南西50kmに位置するスービック米海軍基地に避難した。両国の軍事基地協定により同年9月まで両基地の使用が規定されていたため、この噴火による多大な被害を残したまま、11月26日にフィリピンに返還された。
スービックベイヨットクラブは、返還後に再開発が進められた旧米海軍基地内に位置し、天然の入江であるスービック湾でのヨットやボートの拠点となっている。
The Pinatubo Volcano at western Luzon caused magmatic eruption on June 3, 1991, so 15,000 of soldiers and their families at US Air Force in Clark Field evacuated to US Navy Base in Subic which was 50km south west on June 10. Trigered by this volcanic eruption, United States had decided to return both Bases to Philippines following the Military Base Agreement in which US was alllowed to use both Bases untill September 1991.
The Subic Bay Yacht Club is located within the old US Navy Base site and a hot spot for yachties and boaters of natural calm cove of Subic Bay.

Subic is located at 70km north-west from Metro Manila. There are port facilities, an airpoort and residentical houses as well as a golf course and an athletic grond in the old US Navy Base site which have been redeveloped by SBMA (Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority).
Many luxurious yachts are moored at the Subic Bay Yacht Club in this American taste place.
