Sihanoukville Port, Cambodia
インドシナ半島にあって歴史的には隣国タイとベトナムとの間で幾多の紛争を経てきたカンボジアは、1860年代からベトナム、ラオスと共にフランスの植民地となった。1945年3月、太平洋戦争のきっかけとなる日本軍の仏領インドシナへの侵攻後、カンボジアが独立を果たすのは1953年11月9日のことであった。その後、ベトナム戦争が激化する中で、中国共産党の影響を受けたポル・ポト率いるクメール・ルージュが支配し、映画キリングフィールドにも描かれた300万人とも言われる大虐殺や暗黒の内戦時代を経て、1993年3月に国連主導による選挙により国民議会が設立され、ようやく平和が訪れた。
タイ湾に面した大水深のシハヌークビル港は、1999年から日本の資金援助により整備が行われており、今後も新たなコンテナターミナルの建設を３期にわたり進められる。以前はヨーロッパからのバックパッカーが多数訪れる瀟洒な西欧レストランが数多くあったが、2017年頃からの中国資本による乱開発により街の風景は一変し、至る所にその傷跡が残っているのは残念と言う他はない。
ヨットが接岸できるヨットハーバーや桟橋は未だ整備されていないが、沖合に点在する島陰やリゾートビーチ沖にアンカーを落として、ゆったりと過ごすには良さそうな風情ではある。
Cambodia had been French territory since 1860s to 1953 until being independent. Since then till National Assembly was established by selection lead by United Nations in 1993, Cambodia spent dark ages of civil war which was famous as Killing Field.
Sihanoukville Port is facing to Thai Bay with deep water berths have been developed since 1999 with support by JICA and continue development for new 3 container terminal berths in next 10 years.
Previously many European backpackers visited to the Sihanoukville to enjoy good food and beautiful old town, however after 2017 China money changed this old town. Now a lot of buildings had suspended construction half-way which destroyed the whole view of this old town.
Harbors and jetties for yacht have not been made yet, but there may be good waters anchoring behind beautiful islands and at calm beach.

市街地には建設途中のホテルやコンドミニアムが放置されて街並みを破壊するとともに、南西に面す海岸はリゾートビーチとして開発され自然が壊された (※ 日本人詐欺グループが滞在していたリゾートホテル)
Many hotel and condominium construction had suspended half-way. Beautiful old town and natural beaches have been destroyed by the rule less development.
